Patient Protocol

The following protocol is designed to lower elevated levels of dopamine, adrenalin and noradrenalin that cause anxiety, panic, worry, insomnia and chronic pain. We can decrease the amount of catecholamines produced inside the body by calming down the sympathetic nervous system while simultaneously speeding up the detoxification of these powerful molecules. This protocol provides a strategy of targeted nutrients to lower the levels of catecholamines within the nervous system.

Can this protocol be used in conjunction with other protocols?

This protocol ties in well with any other protocol you are working with – ie, SIBO, SIFO or hormone detoxification, etc. – and can be used concurrently with good results. The best way to integrate this High Catecholamine Phenotype support is to use the Liquid Melatonin and Liposomal L-theanine in combination with your other protocols. These two products are well-tolerated and integrate well all other nutritional and dietary programs.

How many of these high dopamine/catecholamine products are needed?

Severe cases of high catecholamine expression need 4-5 nutrients and mild-to-moderate cases often see results with just 2 products. Depending on the severity of the issues like agoraphobia, insomnia, anxiety, panic, pain, etc. you may want to go big with 4 or 5 products at the start to move the needle, then back off to just 2 or 3 products after you are making progress. The two core products for this protocol are the Liquid Melatonin and the Liquid L-Theanine. Those should be used whenever we are trying to lower catecholamines, however in more severe or chronic cases, we add in the other three products listed below. These products should be taken in combination, at the same time, for maximum effect over the shortest period of time.

1) Liquid Melatonin – 1mg every waking hour for 7-10 days, then reduce dose to 1mg every 3-4 hours throughout the day for ongoing support.

2) Liquid L-Theanine – 100mg every waking hour for 7-10 days, then reduce dose to 100mg every 3-4 hours throughout the day for ongoing support.

3) Niacinamide 500 – 1-2 capsules BID

4) Stress Essentials Relax – 2 capsules TID

5) Magtein – 3-5 capsules before bed
